Friends of the Chewelah Public Library

"My best friend is a person who will give me a book I have not read."

Abraham Lincoln
16th President of the United States

The Friends of the Chewelah Public Library meet monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 1:00pm in the library.

New members are always welcome!

The Friends of the Library volunteer in the library in various capacities:
  • Collect and organize used books which are sold in a constantly stocked shelf in the library foyer, at the Farmers' Market, and other times throughout the year.
  • "Welcome Baby" early-literacy bags given to newborn babies and their parents at Providence St. Joseph's Hospital.

Donations for the Friends of the Library projects may be dropped at the library:
  • Used books in good condition.
  • Fabric suitable for making the "Welcome Baby" tote bags.
