Summer Reading

Your library has a universe of books, programs, and materials to explore!

Join us for visits from NASA Solar System Ambassadors, out-of-this-world storytimes and crafts, and interactive galaxy exploration for all ages as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. For a full list of Summer Reading events, see our events calendar.

Reading Logs for Tickets

Your reading log equals one ticket for amazing summer reading prizes, like drones, a LEGO Space Shuttle, Instant Pots, Kindle Fire, American Girl Doll, and more! NEW this year – you can enter TWICE if you finish TWO reading sheets! Visit your library to see the prizes and get reading so you can enter your ticket(s) before Aug 31!

TEENS/ADULTS: Complete a book review sheet (3 books per sheet) for up to two ticket entries!

Help Us Launch Our Reading Rockets

Each library will be trying to launch a rocket to the moon in honor of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Each minute read will equal one mile; each library will need 3,982 hours read to get to the moon – 238,900 miles away! We’ll be tracking on our library walls to see if we can reach the moon before August 31. Join the challenge!
